EDIT: Rescanned and uploaded on October 24, 2008. This looks so much better.

It's not far down to paradise
At least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquility
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Excerpt song lyrics copyright 1981 “Sailing” by Christopher Cross

=PolarisAstrum needed a reference for his coloring and I realized that I didn’t have any full body drawings of him anywhere, so I finally completed one. Here is Thomil in all his strength and glory. He looks like he's showing off...probably for The Wanderer, his love. The background was inspired by two things: The song “Sailing” and by the upcoming trip to Florida with my boyfriend and his family (For those of you who don’t know, Thomil is based on him). The water was a nice challenge, and I love how the sky turned out. Actually, I’m just in love with this picture. As for posting the lyrics with this picture, not only were they part of the inspiration for the background, but they are from a tremendously beautiful song about sailing and the comfort that sailing brings to Christopher Cross, a recovering addict at the time. Sailing was his cure and sanity, and I think there is something about the ocean and the beach and the open sky that brings out the peaceful, serene, and complacent mindset in all of us.

My scanner completely chewed up the colors on this...they are way too light...

This looks so much better than before that it's almost unbelievable! It doesn't even look like the same. If you didn't tell you rescanned it, I'd think you had gone over it again and worked all over the old coloring :D It looks so much more beautiful now!(not that it didn't before). I really need to start working on that work with both of them, if it comes out as I imagine it, I think I might die of enthusiasm XD
