Waltz by SilverFlameWanderer Waltz by SilverFlameWanderer
Inspired by the song "Waltz" by The Naked And Famous, www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG2c2J…

I'm a big fan of pen sketches. I find the contrast that can be achieved with ink bold and interesting. So, I've been playing around with ballpoint pens and marker pens lately. Mostly just working on shading styles, particularly cross hatching. This is one of the smoother of my recent sketches, though I definitely recognize room for improvement. I'd like to see my drawings loosen up some, but I think that will come with more practice.

This is really beautiful, and I like how the lyrics fit into the rest of the design :)

You're welcome :) It's always nice to find lyrics that fit nicely with a particular drawing :meow:

Often, the music will inspire a drawing too :) It's fun how listening to a song or album when, in my mind, the music is spinning colors or a scene or a type of movement. It's fun bringing the two together!

It is quite fun :) One thing I like to do is put on instrumental music when I write, it somehow makes the words flow better and I don't get stuck as fast.

I've experienced the same thing. I often listen to movie soundtracks when I'm writing papers--makes the whole process feel a lot more epic, especially when it's the LotR soundtracks :aww: Music helps me focus better too, especially instrumental or softer music like Bon Iver or Sufjan Stevens' older albums :)

I can remember in high school I would always wait until I got home to do my term papers so I could listen to music while I did them. Definitely easier to convince your self to do them that way lol ^^ Yes, LotR soundtracks are my favorite drawing and writing music, they put you in the right mind for just about anything you're doing :) Oh, another artist that I really like who has good drawing music is Lord Huron, the music is really soft and pretty, and I love his voice.

I love Lord Huron! Check out James Vincent McMorrow, if you don't know him already. He's got some beautiful soft and enchanting music. His 2010 album "Early in the Morning" is beautiful :) The Cinematic Orchestra's 2007 album "Ma Fleur" is fantastic as well.
